Tiptastic Tuesday: What To Avoid On The F2F Encounter Document

  1. Check boxes developed that do not include an area for written narrative/information that is required to support the need for skilled services requested
  2. Blanket CMS statements such as “leaving home is a taxing effort.” This is not a description of a homebound status
  3. Missing dates and signatures
  4. The term “see progress note” unless the progress note is: 1. Signed and correctly dated by the certifying physician. 2. Contains the required information about the patients homebound status. 3. Contains the required information regarding the patients need for skilled nursing and/or therapy services
