AMA Backs Docs Against UnitedHealth Medicare Advantage Network Cuts

The American Medical Association, along with 30 smaller medical groups, have issued a brief stating they support the doctor associations working towards stopping UnitedHealth from dropping Medicare Advantage providers. UnitedHealth, the largest insurer in the country, is preparing to appeal a preliminary injunction which blocks UnitedHealth from dropping physicians. The AMA has argued that the U.S. Court of Appeals must uphold the injunction, believing that the drop of Medicare Advantage physicians would disrupt the physician-patient relationships and harm these patients’ care.
