As more than 2 million people enroll in private plans offered under the ACA, healthcare providers across the nation prepare for confusion and administrative hassles that will come along with the newly insured. More patients seeking care means more confusion. For instance, confirming a patient’s plan could be problematic if there were data transmittal errors during the enrollment process. Larger hospitals feel as though they are well prepared due to the systems and tools they have in place, but smaller providers may not fare so well, especially if they’re not prepared to handle much larger volumes of patients.
