Yesterday, President Obama apologized to Americans losing their health insurance for telling them that they could keep their current plans. The apology comes after a myriad of troubles that have surfaced due to the rollout of the new health plan including technical difficulties with the HealthCare.gov website and 3.5 million Americans receiving cancellation notices from their insurance companies. President Obama repeatedly told Americans that they would be able to keep their insurance plans if they liked them but the new health law, which mandates that insurance coverage must meet certain requirements, has made some older policies invalid. Officials still say that those forced to change plans may end up with better coverage because of government subsidies being offered. Numerous proposals aimed at addressing the issues have been discussed but so far, the White House has not made any decisions.
