Congress Attempts to Change Home Care’s Face-to-face Requirement

Congress members have signed a letter asking CMS to change the face-to-face requirement for home health care.  Although they agree with the need for direct contact between doctors and patients, they do not agree with the current method.  The current method requires agencies getting a signed and dated form from the physician outlining the plan of care before billing, thus increasing paperwork and cost.  The deadline to sign the letter was Monday, September 16th.
